Dr Vanessa Caldwell, Kai Tahu, Kati Māmoe, Waitaha, is currently the Deputy Health and Disability Commissioner. She has extensive experience in working as a clinician and manager in mental health and addiction services as well as in workforce development.
Vanessa was previously the Director of Matua Raki, Addictions Workforce Development Centre and has been a NZQA monitor for a number of qualifications in the health and social service sectors.
She is a strong advocate for fit-for-purpose workforces that are equipped to respond to the needs of those they support.
