Alice Ingram Early Childhood Education National Industry Advisory Group Member Curriculum and Learning Experience Writer Whānau Āwhina Plunket As a Curriculum and Learning Experience Writer at Whānau Āwhina Plunket, I design resources for young people to use in secondary schools or other education settings. My role focuses on developing the learning and assessment materials for unit standards, as well as material for non-assessed programmes (e.g. Babysitting and Youth Parenting courses) which reflect best practice in child development, health, and care. My work contributes to the broader mission of Whānau Āwhina Plunket: supporting healthy tamariki, confident whānau, and connected communities. I originally trained and worked as a primary school teacher for over 10 years, with my most recent experience in New Entrants. This has given me valuable insight into the learning progression and developmental needs of young mokopuna as they transition from early childhood education into the school environment. I bring strong digital design skills and a keen eye for presenting information in a way that is both clear and visually engaging. I would like the ECE National Industry Advisory Group to help foster stronger collaboration across the sector. I look forward to learning from others and drawing on the strengths of the group. I’m particularly passionate about ensuring that secondary school learners, who aspire to join the ECE workforce, feel supported, well-prepared, and confident in their pathway.
