Ko Tauiwi te iwi.

I have been involved with the early childhood education sector as a parent, grandparent and rangatira within Playcentre Aotearoa for over 20 years, currently sitting on the Senior Leadership Team overseeing the pedagogical workstreams.  In addition to my mahi within Playcentre, I have many years’ experience creating adult learning programmes and resources, including for ECE qualifications at Levels 3 -5.

In terms of the National Industry Advisory Group, I can contribute significant experience related to parent and whānau-led education in the early years and developing adult learning programmes to support the develop of ECE kaiako.  I also bring a broader experience from a business analysis, information systems and psychology background here in Aotearoa and in the UK and United States.

I am going into the National Industry Advisory Group as a new participant and keen to learn more about the role of the National Industry Advisory Group.  I would like to ensure that the early learning sector continues to represent the broad range of service types available in NZ to ensure that all tamariki and whānau have high quality ECE options available to them that reflect the diversity and aspirations of varied families and communities.
