What are National Industry Advisory Groups?

National Industry Advisory Groups (NIAG’s) are a group of people who represent their sector, bringing industry voices, knowledge and wisdom to Toitū te Waiora.

National Industry Advisory Groups advise Toitū te Waiora on workforce development needs and qualifications within specific industries, particularly focusing on enhancing the skill levels of the workforce and underserved learners.

Our National Industry Advisory Groups are responsible for:

• Providing advice and feedback on the strategic direction, trends, investment advice and performance within their sector.
• Providing advice on the current and future skills and knowledge requirements their workforce requires of their sector, to inform the development and maintenance of quality, and fit for purpose qualifications
• Supporting with the coordination of activities to improve performance within the industry
• Advocating and promoting industry training within their sector
