Early Childhood Education National Industry Advisory Group (NIAG) meets for the first time

Toitū te Waiora recently hosted members of the new Early Childhood Education (ECE) NIAG who met for the first time in Wellington, following on from the recent establishment of the Social Services NIAG earlier this month.

Both of the new NIAGs represent a collection of voices from across the ECE and social services sectors and are dedicated to advocating for sector needs, influencing the strategic direction of qualification reviews and addressing workforce trends and challenges.

The passion and commitment shown by members of the group to support a strong and sustainable ECE workforce was evident throughout the day-long hui.

The goal is to ensure that the education and training provided within their sectors aligns with the evolving workforce demands and supports the career aspirations of learners, building a sustainable workforce.
