New Micro-credential Approval: Applied Coordinated Incident Management (Micro-Credential) Level 4

Toitū te Waiora is pleased to announce NZQA approval of the Applied Coordinated Incident Management (Level 4) micro-credential [Ref: 129155-1] that can be assessed by three previously approved skill standards:

  • 40717 – Outline New Zealand’s Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) (level 3, 2 credits)
  • 40718 – Outline CIMS response operations (level 4, 2 credits)
  • 40719 – Use CIMS during a response (level 4, 3 credits).

Why was this micro-credential developed?

This micro-credential was developed to replace several NZQA-approved Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) training schemes for New Zealand’s emergency management sector with a single, cohesive micro-credential aligned with current industry standards and training requirements. The aim is to consolidate the schemes into one standardised micro-credential setting a national standard of consistent CIMS training.
