Proposed revision of unit standard 6400 – Manage first aid in an emergency situation (Level 3, 2 Credits, Version 7)

Toitū te Waiora is proposing a minor revision to unit standard 6400 – Manage first aid in an emergency situation (Level 3, 2 Credits, Version 7).

Version 7 of unit standard 6400 was published by NZQA in May 2023 following a review.

Feedback on Version 7 from providers has suggested that wording of the Performance Criteria 1.2 range statement needs clarification – notably on whether assessment of burns is compulsory or not when selecting two major injuries from the range.

Toitū te Waiora is therefore proposing a change to the formatting of the range statement for Performance criteria 1.2:
