Logan Warwick Early Childhood Education National Industry Advisory Group Member Registered Kaiako Kids in the View Early Learning Ngāti Maniapoto and Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa I am a qualified and registered early childhood kaiako with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, which I completed in July 2024. I gained my teacher registration in August 2024 and have since been actively working as a registered early childhood Kaiako. Throughout my journey in the early childhood sector, I have been deeply involved in fostering children’s holistic development through play-based, child-led, and culturally responsive learning experiences. I am committed to creating inclusive environments where tamariki feel safe, valued, and empowered to explore and grow. As a dedicated and passionate early childhood kaiako, I bring a strong commitment to fostering high-quality education and care within the early childhood sector. My experience in play-based, culturally responsive, and inclusive teaching equips me with valuable insights into supporting tamariki’s holistic development. I am skilled in child-led learning, and fostering meaningful whānau engagement, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported. My ability to collaborate with colleagues, contribute innovative ideas, and advocate for best practices in early childhood education make me a valuable asset. I would like to see the National Industry Advisory Group play a pivotal role in strengthening the early childhood education workforce by advocating for policies and initiatives that support kaiako in delivering high-quality education and care. A key focus should be on improving teacher retention and well-being through better working conditions, fair pay, and access to professional development opportunities. Supporting culturally responsive and inclusive practices should also be prioritised, ensuring that educators have the resources and training needed to meet the diverse needs of tamariki and whānau.
