Proposed Firearm Safety Skill Standard – provide your feedback! July 15th, 2024 Toitū te Waiora Community, Health, Education and Social Services Workforce Development Council is undertaking public consultation on the draft of a new skill standard. The proposed standard draft can be viewed here. The standard was developed following a request by and in consultation with Te Tari Pūreke | Firearms Safety Authority. The standard covers the safe use and storage of firearms and ammunition in accordance with the New Zealand Police Firearms Safety Code and Arms Regulations 1992. This standard has been developed to be used within the New Zealand firearms licensing process. It can only be used for assessment by Te Tari Pūreke.
