Toitū Te Waiora and Waihanga Ara Rau Workforce Development Councils are commencing a review of six asbestos removal unit standards:

2138 – Demonstrate knowledge of asbestos and safety procedures (L2)

30596 – Demonstrate knowledge of Asbestos and Safety measures for Asbestos related work (L3)

29765 – Remove non-friable asbestos (L4)

29766 – Remove friable asbestos (L4)

29767 – Supervise asbestos removal (L5)

29768 – Conduct asbestos assessment associated with removal (L6)

This review will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to make sure the unit standards remain relevant to the current needs of the industry. Contributions to the reviews are welcomed. The review will be completed by the end of November 2022, and we are anticipating submitting the reviewed unit standards to NZQA in early December 2022.
