Proposed review of 12 Hearing Therapy unit standards

Toitū te Waiora reviewed the New Zealand Diploma in Hearing Therapy (Level 6) [Ref: 2859] in the fourth quarter of 2023, and Version 3 of the qualification was published by NZQA in February 2024. This is a nationally recognised qualification, vital in training professionals for the hearing therapy workforce.

Toitū te Waiora subsequently reviewed 12 Hearing Therapy unit standards to ensure they remain fit-for-purpose and continue to meet the needs of the hearing therapy sector.

Hearing Therapy domain: 30082-30093

Changes:

• The standards have been updated to reflect NZQA’s latest template.
• References have been updated where necessary.
• ‘Deficit’ language has been removed.
• References to Hearing Therapy technologies have been updated.
• Various iterative changes have been made to performance criteria wording.
